Experts believe that over the next five years, to meet today and tomorrow’s needs, North Carolina will need to allow and build over 760,000 more homes. The shortage of homes in North Carolina is forcing too many people to live further and further away from work, hurting families and communities.
It’s time to allow more homes at the state level by making it easier and simpler to build the types of homes people need - smaller backyard cottages, apartment homes near transit and shops, and townhomes so more North Carolinians can get a leg up through homeownership.
